Under Festival coordinators Hemans Yu and Ted Dawson, the visual arts portion of True North Festival in Taiwan consisted of a 3 month exhibition of contemporary Canadian Landscape Art at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts.

The Foundation engaged Canadian curator David Liss (formerly of the Saidye Bronfman Centre for the Arts in Montreal) to realize the exhibition. Of the 16 artists showcased in this exhibition, David Elliot, Suzy Lake, Landon Mackenzie, Reinhard Reitzenstein, Hemans Yu, and Lawrence Paul Yuxweluptun personally attended the opening. At the conclusion of its run in March 1999, the show had attracted over 100,000 visitors.
