On June 27 and July 1, 2011, the Boreal Orchestra and Boreal Seniors Choir performed community events under the auspices of the Celebrate Canada program with support from Canada Heritage.

On June 27, Multiculturalism Day, the orchestra and choir performed at Thornhill Community Centre Library in Markham, Ontario with the involvement and support of the Library system in the City of Markham.

On July 1, Canada Day, both ensembles repeated their musical programs at New Life Gospel Church of ECF in Scarborough, Ontario, involving the church congregation and support from the Chinese-Canadian community.
