Back
to Our Roots is our latest community program offered for seniors and
adults starting in the spring of 2014, and it builds on our recent
experiences with the plant varieties discovered with volunteers in
our Fabrics project.
This new program is about how volunteering and community spirit can
make a positive physical difference to our local living environment.
Participants in Back to Our Roots create garden layouts and
plantings, using local plant species that are naturally found in our
area of Ontario. In addition, True North works with volunteers to
rescue plants donated from construction and building sites around
Toronto and Greater Toronto Area that can find new life through our
project.
By being in touch with the soil and harmoniously working together,
we can bring new brightness and joy to our urban landscape.
